Moonshine invites the everyday eater to share in the agricultural act of eating. By choosing to buy sustainable and ethical meat, you participate in creating a new food economy. By choosing to prepare meat that is raised and slaughtered locally and carefully, you eschew large agribusiness, and its technological "innovations" that degrade our soil, water, air, bodies, animals, and futures. By choosing to eat better meat, you actively protest such a future. But, more importantly, it just tastes better and is better for you.

Why would you want to be a Moonshine eater?

Grassfed and pastured meat takes on the flavor and nutrients of the field, giving our bodies higher levels of antioxidants and beneficial fatty acids, the kinds that reduce heart disease instead of exacerbate it. Meat muscle is lower in fat and higher in good cholesterol. Through photosynthesis, decomposition and digestion, pastured meat delivers the goodness from the sun and the soil straight to you. The broad spectrum of flavors reflects the diversity of the field and forest, and opens our taste buds to a whole new type of meatiness. It's old fashioned tasting meat. It's real meat.

So how does it work?

Moonshine meat serves the individual, couple or family as a CSA. CSA - Community Supported Agriculture - is a purchasing system that allows a member to buy a share of a farm for a particular length of time and in exchange receive regular deliveries of its bounty. The Moonshine Meats CSA was one of the first meat CSAs in the country, and we invite you to join us.
